Reversal Error

I created a purchase order and posted the invoice. When I went to Vendor transactions to reverse it, I got the following error:
 
> “The open vendor invoice with the following voucher is tied to a PO.”
 
Could someone please explain why this reversal is not allowed and what the correct way to resolve it is?

    Reversal Error
    Hi,
     
    In D365 F&O, once a Purchase order (PO) invoice is posted, it cannot be directly reversed or deleted because it has created a financial transactions.
     
    how to correct it,
    Option 1 - You can post a credit note
    Option 2 - You can post a Return order.

    Reversal Error
    Hi,
     
    In F&O you can't reverse invoice against PO.
     
    Only way is return order or manualy credit note.
     
    While doing Credit note you need to make sure you reverse other impact e.g. Inventory which got posted. 
     
    There is a planned feature from Microsoft for this in future
