Error in required updates for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Hello all,

Please I have been trying to clear this error in the above topic, I have installed Visual Studio Code 2010 Professional, I have also installed Microsoft Visual Studio Premium 2013 with Update 5, still I have not been able to resolve this error "Required Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010". I have followed the link in the error which directs you to download the update patch, I have downloaded it, and when I try to install it, I get this error "KB2736182 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer. Please visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=225649 for more details.

I have done everything necessarily, I still haven't been able to resolve it, Can anybody help me with a solution please.

Hi,

Visual Studio 2010 was the supported version until AX 2012 R3 CU8. From this version, VS2013 was the required version. For the old installer file, it still looks for Visual Studio 2010 (with the required updates). That's why you need to slipstream the installer files so that it can the binaries for installing AX 2012 components for VS 2013 are present.

I uninstalled Visual Studio 2010, and I was getting the Microsoft Visual Studio error. I was hoping that the 2013 version I installed earlier would be enough for the setup, but that wasn't the case. Do you know if there's any explanation for this?

Yup! Please figure out if someone else has access to an LCS account which has access to AX 2012 R3 resources so that you could download the necessary files for this installation.

I'm quite confuse also, these are my installation screenshot.

Everything from the very beginning of downloading the image dvd to the installation tells me I'm working with a dynamics ax r3 except for the LCS.

I'm doing this installation on a production environment.

I really don't think you are working with AX 2012, I think you are working with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, since you have that option available to you.

Maybe it could be clearer which product you are using if you could give a brief idea of the development you want to do and especially if you have some requirement(s).

Thanks for your effort honestly. Unfortunately, that isn't what I have on my screen when I try to create a new project.

Ok. Please login to LCS and create a new project. Create the product as "Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012".

Go to the Updates tile in the project

Download the CU8 slipstream file and follow the process as in the first link I provide.

That's also from the download portal. I'm looking at installing VS tools for reports and development purposes which is required in my agency.

Hi,

This is an installer file for AX 2012 R3 only. The management reporter is a different product. I am not sure what you mean by Operations server. Is it a server you setup?

How are you logging into AX? Could you please provide a screenshot? Also, why are you looking to install VS tools?

From my volume license, under the operations server, this is what I downloaded

SW_DVD5_Dynamics_AX_2012_R3_MultiLang_MLF_X19-24713. The management reporter for Dynamics ERP tells me its a CU8.
