Please visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=225649 for more details.

    Hi,

Please use do a slipstreaming for the installer files. That will take care of this issue. Here is a link on how to do slipstreaming for AX 2012 R3 CU8. You can do it for the CU you are installing.

I think VS 2013 was supported CU 8 onwards. Please give it a try and let us know in case you face any issues.

I noticed something when I went into the LCS. A project has been created already by my boss, and the service update - product version is 10.0.13. I had to go to the save update, after which it led me to the Save package to asset library.

There is a Name which says Service Update - Version 10.0.13, and a description which says Service Update - Version 10.0.13.

When I click on save package, it tells me "a file with asset id bcd****************1c has already been copied to your project's asset library."

I go to the Asset library option, and then go to Software deployable package(1), I have clicked on it, and I am downloading the file which is quite large (about 5gb).

Please I want to understand if this is what I should do in creating a slipstream that will resolve this error I am encountering.

Also, from the product version, does it mean that my cumulative update is version 10?

Thank you for your response. I'm most grateful.

    Hi,

I think you are getting confused between two versions. You are trying to install CU 13 on AX 2012. The service update version 10.0.13 is for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

I would suggest that you create a new project with Product chosen as "Dynamics AX 2012". In this new project you should be able to download the slipstream files under "Updates" section as per the link I provided. Which CU of AX 2012 R3 are you on currently?

I really don't know the CU of AX 2012 R3 I'm working on currently?

    Sorry it's CU 8

    Hi

There was no place I could get the product version after following the instruction on your link, but when I when I went to the project setting, the product version was finance and operations.

I wanted to create a new project, when I clicked on the product name, I got only two options Finance and Operations, and Microsoft Dynamics Nav. If I select Finance and Operations, It gives me the version as Finance and Operations. I am thinking maybe I should go with this. I'm also thinking that my product version is 10.0.8.

Should I proceed with the slipstreaming for that error?

    Hi,,

Could you please verify if you using Dynamics 365 for finance and operations or AX 2012? In case you are using Finance and Operations, you don't have an installer for Visual Studio. Visual Studio comes pre-configured in the Dev environment.

Could you please mention you exact requirement here?
