Dynamics 365 form editor deleted subgrids

Posted on by 45

Hi everybody,

I opened the form editor in marketing lists. Then I removed accounts, leads, in 'members' section. Now I would like to bring these subgrids back, but I can not find them anywhere. The name of the subgrids were 'accountsUci, leadsUci'. When I try to create a subgrid with exactly the same name, I get the message that there is already a subgrid with that name. They are therefore not completely removed. In the sandbox environment, the marketing list is still as I would like to have.

Where can I find the subgrids? I do not see them in the field explorer. And is there another way to copy the marketing list from the sandbox to the live environment?

thanks in advance
Daimy

RE: Dynamics 365 form editor deleted subgrids

    Hello Daimy,

The Marketing lists form is build will several grids for Accounts, Contacts and Leads. The lists form will show the respective grid that corresponds to the member type that you select when you create the list. And with the new UCI client we have added an second set of sub grids which uses a new control in the UCI.

It is not advised to modify this construct in form editor because of the form logic that maintains this experience.

I understand that you have modified this form and need a way to bring it back to the original state. You could use a backup of your database or configuration to reset the changes you have made - but I assume this is not an option. And I assume your changes are not part of a managed solution that could be removed.

The following option might be a way:

    1. You create a solution containing justs the marketing lists entity with the just form that you have modified

    2. You export this solution and expand the files

    3. In the solution export you can update the form XML with the status from another org that does not have the changes

    4. Update the solution version in XML, compress the solution file and import the solution.
