Hello. I have an employee that is unable to view the attachment to a transaction another employee has scanned. It seems to be a hit or miss as some of the other images can be viewed. The employee who scans the documents receives no errors. The employee who tries to view them receives the "Unable to preview this attachment" popup. These attachments are uploaded the same way each time.
The only major difference between the two employees are their PCs, but that should make no difference. Is there a cause why this may happen and if so, is there a remedy to this?

Hi Tim,
I have checked both workstations Dex.ini files and both are pointed to the same OLE path. I have also checked their Adobe versions and both are current.
Hi Leslie,
As far as I know and see, everything is the same size. The documents should only have text, but with certain vendors, they do have company logos. The workstations do have Adobe and are both up to date.
Hit or miss, that doesn't make much sense and that blows out the usual answers. Seems more 'IT' related to me.
I had to go check and see if the new document attach features had a user security level but I don't see anything like that.
Assuming you're on an older version or still attaching at the record note level and not the toolbar level I'd check that Dex.ini has the same OLE path on both machines. I assume they are (otherwise it should always miss) so then I'd check next time your user getting the message that they can go into windows explorer and path to the ole folder. Almost like they have dropped off the network or never actually logged in.
That I have seen before.
The Dex.ini is in the Data folder of the client. Our is: OLEPath=X:\GPShare\Master\OLE\ (as an example)
My apologies if you are using the new document attachment features as this does not apply .
Tim
Hi,
Do the ones that don't view have a larger file size than the ones that do? Are the documents you are scanning just text, or do they have pictures too? Do all of your people have Adobe standard on their workstations?
Kind regards,
Leslie
Hi Leslie. It is actually a PDF. The thing is though, some are able to be viewed but most aren't. The other problem they face is that if it is indeed a problem with the actual upload portion of it, no one is able to reupload the document to the transaction but instead have to upload it to the actual vendor profile itself, which is a PITA to sort and find the documents with the way they've been labeling them.
What is the file type of the scanned images? Is it a jpg or a bitmap or something different.
Kind regards,
Leslie
