We are on the verge of completing our implementation of FO and simultaneously planning to build new PowerBI models for our new solution. Then Fabric emerges on the horizon. Does anyone know how FO's SQL database fits into Fabric?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Regarding your question about FO's SQL database fits into Fabric

You can import your SQL data into Fabric using shortcuts in CETaS and OneLake. then, use this data in Power BI

The following video will give you some guidance.

If you are using a cloud instance of Dynamics 365 F&O, you can't directly connect the SQL database as it is part of the cloud service. You would need to export the data to Azure Data Lake which can be used as a data source in Power BI. How FO's SQL database can be integrated with Fabric:

    • FO's SQL database can be used as a data warehouse or a data lake in Fabric.
    • Using Fabric as a data warehouse makes it easy to integrate with Power BI, but it requires changes to FO's database.
    • Using Fabric as a data lake makes it possible to keep FO's database intact, but it is more complex to integrate with Power BI.
    • Using a hybrid solution combines the benefits of both data warehouse and data lake approaches.

The best way to integrate FO's SQL database with Fabric will depend on your specific needs and requirements.

    I hope this helps!
