GL Batch status Z

GL Journal entry was posted and is now showing status of Z instead of P.  From what I read it is due to it being interrupted or unable to complete.  So now we have part of entry posted (Project ID and subaccount reports show the entry) but GL accounts do not.  Not sure how to proceed to get this batch to complete the posting.

    Rick

Changed the Z to a U and the batch now appears in Post Transactions window so we should be able to complete the posting process.  Thanks for the help.

Will check it out and let you know how it turns out.  Thanks for the help

Not really sure about the GLTran items.  I would probably change the status in batch to a B and see if the batch will release successfully.  A status of U indicates that the batch is released but not yet posted.  I am assuming the Z status you are talking about is in the batch table.  Now that I think about it, try changing the batch table status field to a U (not a B) and see if the batch shows on the post transactions screen and you can post it.

Thanks Rick....I have never run into a Z batch before either.  I have to locate where the Z status is coming from.  GLTran shows a Posted status of U for all line items in this batch.  So per the above I change the status from Z to B?

    RE: GL Batch status Z

I have to admit that I have not run into a Z status on a batch before.  However, if I did I would try setting the status back to U using a SQL update query such as:

    begin transaction

update batch set status = 'B' where module = 'GL' and batnbr = 'nnnnnn'

    commit transaction

After doing that I would go to the release GL batches screen and try releasing it.  If that gives a message about something being put it the event log then I would look at the event log to determine what the issue was.

The batch no longer shows in the Release Batches grid.  And the query results the db admin sent me for the Batch shows the posted status for all line items as U.  Dont know where in the db the Z shows up.  Thanks

    RE: GL Batch status Z

If you open the Release GL Batches screen does this batch show in the grid?  If so, select it and click Begin Processing and see if that resolves the issue.  Note: when you process this screen, selected batches will fall of the grid even if they fail to release so pay attention as to whether the status message at the end says Process Complete (meaning it actually released) or if it says an entry was made in the event log (meaning the process failed again).  If the later, look at the event log to determine more information about the failure.  One of the more common reasons for a batch to fail to release is if someone went into the chart of accounts and inactivated the account number after the batch was created.
