Issue with Serial numbers and no information

Thanks for helping me. We have GP 10 and a user did a receive and during it the system froze at a point and now we have 5 serial numbers in the system however they do not have any information associated with them. I did a reconciliation and Check list at night, but this did not fix the issue.

When I go to Inquiry - Inventory - Serials it brings up the item name and when I enter the serial number to add it says "Serial number has already been entered for the selected item."

I am new to GP and can really use the help, as they look to me, the IT guy to solve all computer issues. Thanks so much in advance!!

    When you say "no info", is there a receipt listed in the Inventory Inquiry Receipts for these 5 items?  Does the quantity on hand reflect these 5 pieces?

    If the answer to both of these is NO, you can go into the Serial Number Master Table, locate the 5 serial numbers, and delete them using SQL Server Manager.  Make a backup first then checklinks and reconcile again after.

    Thank you Richard!  Should you do a checklinks first then a reconcile in that order? When in SQL Manager which table is the Serial Number Master Table?

    Also is it safe to remove items directly from the tables?  Thanks again for the help!!

    I found out that NO is the answer to the two questions. How can I go about completing the process you described?
