Help needed with an issue we have in prod CRM.  A workflow did not populate the Name field as it should. While troubleshooting I found a difference that occurs at some point in the name field.  Field has a white background that is editable. At some point the Name field is now blue same form background and is now un-editable.  What can make this change to the form?  I believe this is why the workflow no longer works for this specific record.  Workflow works correctly with other records. Thanks, Vicky

    Vicky,

In order to provide you with additional assistance, can you provide the following:

    1. What version of Dynamics CRM are you using?

    2. What entity are you customizing?

    3. When does the name field appear editable or not (i.e. editable on create of a record, but not on update of an existing record)

    Thanks,

    Aaron

    Aaron,

    I found my answers tonight.

Today I was asked to try unpublishing the workflow and re-publish and then re-run it on the record in question. I just did this a bit ago and  it worked.  One issue solved.

The issue with the un-editable field turned out to be a difference beween prod and test environments and not related to my original issue.  The test environment entities form field did not have read-only checked marked and prod did.

Lessons learned.  These are good as this type of stuff will stick with me.

I thank you for your time.

    Regards,

    Vicky
