Adobe PDF writer version supported by GP?

I have a customer that is trying to send statements from GP2010. I believe this still requires the Adobe PDF Writer in order to do this. Does anybody know what version is supported in GP 2010? I noticed that the latest Adobe Acrobats are no longer named "Writer" but have numbers instead. Are the latest Acrobats supported by GP 2010? I don't want to risk the customer purchasing licenses if it is not supported.

Thanks!

Ron

    Check this out

Convert to PDF documents on the fly — for Free!

Portable Document Format (PDF) is the de facto standard for the secure and reliable distribution and exchange of electronic documents and forms around the world.  CutePDF Writer is the free version of commercial PDF converter software. CutePDF Writer installs itself as a "printer subsystem". This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to convert to professional quality PDF documents - with just a push of a button!

FREE for commercial and non-commercial use!  No watermarks!  No Popup Web Ads!

Sanjay, nothing except the (non-free) Adobe Acrobat will work for the statement emailing functionality available in GP 2010 that Ron is asking about.

Ron, according to the GP 2010 system requirements (mbs.microsoft.com/.../MDGP2010_System_Requirements) Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and 9.0 are "supported". That means those are the only versions that have been fully tested by Microsoft. I personally have also used Adobe Acrobat X with GP 2010 with no issues. Just starting to test Acrobat XI - looks fine so far, but I have not tried everything in GP with it yet.

    Victoria,

CutePDT is  printer, any report which you can print to printer can be printed to CutePDF to generate PDF.   When the printer selection window pops up just select CutePDF printer.  We are using it to print various reports from credit card receipts, invoices, statements and have it emailed to.  It works :)

    Sanjay,

I have used CutePDF many times, yes it works fine instead of a printer. And if you were printing one customer statement at a time and manually entering the email address it would work just fine. However, to use the automatic emailing functionality of statements in Dynamics GP, you cannot use something like CutePDF.

Users do not need to be a PDF expert if they use this PDF Generator. This powerful PDF Generator is compatible with the latest specifications, which makes it perfect for PDF creation, merging & splitting, PDF modification & raterization, invoice creation, receipts, and other template PDFs.

Victoria - what results have you had in testing with Adobe XI?  I have a client who is needing to purchase Adobe and wanted to know if Adobe XI would work.  The system specs for GP 2013 (updated 9/19) still says Adobe X.

    Thanks

    Sheila,

I have not seen any problems with Adobe Acrobat XI and GP 2013, I am using that on my computer right now. However, I might not be using it for everything your customer is. They might need to get one copy and test it if they are concerned about it.

Thanks Victoria.  My client really only emails customer statements.  And there is a huge quantity.  I might just suggest that they use Adobe X because I know it's tested.

    I appreciate your input.

    Sheila
