Hi,

when I click on a button a JS is called. The Js calls an action.

Now, when I click on the button, an error message says Error in Action [object Object].

What is this error related to? Is it related to the action? If yes, what should I check to solve the issue?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

Did you try calling the action from a workflow (for testing)? To me, it looks like the wrong/bad request parameters to call the action.

Please share the JS code, so we can help you figure out the issue.

    Hi,

To understand if it's action or JS related issue, can you clarify what step specifically throwing that error.

You can do that by the following:

    1. Open the Action, navigate to Sessions and see if there's any related failed ones.
      1. If you found any, this means it's action related issue. Have a look into the error details maybe it contains more details that helps to identify the issue. Paste it here if need extra help.
      2. Check what action's step that fails exactly. Is it OOB or custom activity.
        1. Usually, this error happens with me if the action is preforming an operation to a record that the calling user doesn't have privilege to do so for that entity.
    2. Debug the button JS action function. See where it fails and check also what the parameters and other configuration passed to execute the action.

More clarity on which components that causing this and more details of the error message will help to narrow down the possibilities.
