Suggested Answer

Incorrect remaining hours for a booked resource.

I would like to point out that the calendar is correctly set to 8 working hours and assigned to all resources, with the time zone set to GMT +1 Rome. When I book a resource for 8 hours, it shows that they have 2 remaining hours. Why is that? However, if in the resource booking tab I set the time zone to GMT Universal Time, the remaining hours show correctly as 0.
I have the same question (0)

This is a known behavior in Dynamics 365 Field Service / Resource Scheduling, and it almost always comes down to time zone misalignment between calendars, bookings, and system time calculations.
Option1: Standardize All Time Zones to UTC
Set all calendars (Organization, Resource, and Working Hours) to UTC.
D365 will then display bookings relative to each user’s time zone but store everything consistently in UTC.
Most enterprise deployments use this method.
Option2:Align Calendar and System Time Zones
Ensure the resource’s user record time zone, the resource calendar, and the organization time zone are all consistent.
If even one differs (for example, user in GMT+1 but org in UTC), D365 can offset bookings when calculating availability.
Option3:Verify the “Bookable Resource Booking” Form Settings
Open the Resource Booking form → Booking tab
Check Start Time and End Time fields and confirm that the time zone displayed matches the Resource Calendar time zone
You can test by temporarily setting all related entities to GMT UTC to confirm alignment.

Time Zones in Field Service can be set in multiple areas.

    • On a resource work calendar
    • On the Schedule Board under scheduler settings
    • In your Personal Settings

If any one of these are misaligned, then it can throw off the hours presentation. Based on what you wrote, I think you need to change the timezone on your schedule board.

Yes, if I change the GMT there, it works, but it doesn’t save the setting. I mean, every time I reopen the Schedule Board I have to set it again.

Isn’t there a way to save it?

It should save the setting per user who is viewing the board automatically. The one in my screenshot was set a few weeks back for a demo and has stayed since.

Are you a system admin, or at the very least do you have the Dispatcher security role in Field Service/Customer Service? Maybe create a new schedule board and see if the value stays saved there?
