Disable quality order inventory blocking

I’m looking at stopping the inventory blocking for quality orders created for production FG put away and don’t see the parameters for the Disable expected receipts from quality orders that sample blocked inventory feature from 10.0.32.  We are currently in 10.0.43.  Anyone know where to find the parameters to disable the inventory blocking?

Thanks,

Trent

    Thank you for the question.

The feature is no longer available to enable and is baked into WHS, since it has been mandatory for a few versions now. I have proposed a change to the documentation here: https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/dynamics-365-unified-operations-public/pull/5071

I'd like to know more about your requirement, since it's only affecting expected receipts. Do you want quality orders without any reservations and blockings?

We have continuous production processes that need to be reported as finished and put away while still having open quality orders which leaves part of the inventory blocked.  We need to disable the blocking to allow the put away and validate the quality orders later.

    Thanks for your response.

    Okay, thank you for clarification.

The old quality module in the standard application is not really geared towards continuous process manufacturing without thinking outside the box.

I developed an ISV solution for AX 2012 and D365 F&O to handle quality control for continuous production lines (continuous sampling, disposition code on license plate level, backwards release multiple pallets based on extended test), and actually ended up working for one of our bakery customers for a while.

You might be lucky, that the new Advanced Quality Management module that is in preview supports this requirement. But otherwise you are looking into making a customization or implementing an ISV solution.

I was afraid of that, thanks so much for the response.
