Using Product to track Sales of reps

Thanks for taking timeout and reading the query.

We have few products; and few sales reps.  I need a way to track sales of the individuals based on revenue they make.  I understand that this can be tracked when Opportunity is marked as Won and Revenue can be entered.  However, its manual and prone to errors. We would then like to incentivise individuals based on revenue they make for company.

I need some help in setting up the flow of data in the following manner... track the product right since the lead is created along with what revenue the lead will close at.  There is an option of Est Revenue; but it is alwas at 0...I have tried Products/Price Lists/Unit Groups but could not get this working.

Can somebody help....I just want to track Leads or opportunites with sales reps and revenue they generate.

Ravi.

What revenue type do you have at the opportunity?

Products/Line Items will only add up if the revenue type is set to "System Calculated".

Gus, thanks for your reply.  If you mean under the heading "Forecast Information" then the Revenue is set to "System Calculated"...If there is any other place where I need to set Revenue Type then I am not sure where that is...

Never Mind...there was a flaw in the procedure i was following....Just to ensure any one else doesnt fall for this...

    Everything was all aright...except.....

You have to click on Line Items in the Opportunity from Left Pane.

Click inside the Line Items box.

From the Ribbon enter "Add New Opportunity"

    Select Product.

    Select unit.

    Define Quantity.

    Hit Save

I know....this was simple.....But only after I knew it.  Thanks for your time Gus.
