Dynamics SL 2015 Terminal Server/Remote App issue

Hello

We recently migrated our SL 2011 to SL 2015 on a new VM server. We have a separate SQL server(SQL 2014) as well as a separate Terminal Server running Server 2008R2. We published the SL2015 application and create a remoteapp rdp for our clients.

The issue we're having is sometimes a popup window from Dynamics is hidden behind the main window and there's no way to get to it so it looks like the screen is frozen. We've tried Alt-Tab and several other combinations to see if we can bring it forward but it doesn't. Also the hidden window doesn't show it on the taskbar so we can't click to it either. I know there's another window hidden because on the terminal server, I can see the another process in Task manager running but it's not showing up in the client's computer.

I've tried to some hotfixes for the terminal server but nothing seems to be working. This wasn't happening with our 2011 version running on VM.

Anyone have this issue?

Thank You

Andrew

We upgraded from SL v7 FP1 sp3 to SL 2015 in early June 2017.  we utilize a TS 2008R2 environment as well.  It worked perfectly for the SLv7 product.  We are having similar issues of reports and/or screens freezing.  I am not sure if there is another window that is displayed and hidden during these freeze episodes as I don't see any additional icons on my taskbar and it doesn't appear to be any additional items showing in the Processes tab at the TS.  At first I thought the issue was related to the legacy custom reports that we carried forward but have replaced those with the report template that arrived with SL2015 (customizing with our additional content).  Users are under the impression that their fast pace activity at the desktop is what is causing the freeze... they attempt to get on with the next step in their process before the system gives back the mouse or window...could this be a cause?

Yes, any feedback on this freeze issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lolita,

What I ended up doing was installing a new 2012 R2 terminal server and publishing it and the "freezing issue" went away. Hope this helps

Thanks for this info... I will share with my director and IaaS partner for action consideration.
