Dynamics 365 CRM SPLA Licensing after October 2018

Posted on by 200

I have some difficulties to understand current options for SPLA user licensing - and after contacted MS several times thru support channels and not been able to find Microsoft personnel who could help me I decided to check this with real experts ie. forums.

In "Dynamics365EnterpriseEditionOnPremisesLicensingGuide.pdf" there are three licenses listed:

Team Members, Sales and Customer Service.

I have customers who have three different kind of users(roles)
1. System customizer. Who can create new entities, make configurations for existing entities, forms etc.
2. Sales people. Who use CRM entities and 100+ custom entities from our solution
3. Backoffice people. Who use Account, Lead, Contact + actives and 100+ custom entities

So my question is: which licenses my customer should get for each of these roles ?

Right Ben, but this guide says: "This document does not apply to  Microsoft Dynamics 365 on - premises".

And in document, which I mentioned in my question (In "Dynamics365EnterpriseEditionOnPremisesLicensingGuide.pdf" ) this is not clearly explained.

So I quess I need to wait for new version of that document as Stefan suggests.

    Hi Pekka,

You could look (and wait) for an updated version of the Licensing Guide for On-Premises at the following link. The one for Online is just 5 days old.

In all 3 cases you need the Dynamics 365 for Sales Enterprise Licence:-

The System customizer needs a full licence

Team member and Professional licences only allow access to 15 custom entities and you are using more than that.

The latest (December 2018) licence guide is available at go.microsoft.com/fwlink;clcid=0x0809
