I am trying to look up a way to schedule sales invoices to clients in GP I went to Sales<schedule payments but I am not trying to pay someone. Is this where i would go to set up a recurring invoicing? We charge a monthly fee on our equipment but only to about 3-4 customers can i set this up to send an invoice on the first of the month or atleast POST it and print the invoice on the first for say 6 consecutive months?

    Hi,

Right now, I do not believe you can create recurring invoices, nor can you create a recurring invoice batch - so you can't set up the frequency and the days to increment. However, you can set up a repeating Order and then transfer those orders to invoices once a month (or whatever). I have many clients using that feature. They have various management fees they send to a variety of customers and they do not want to create the SOP Invoice every time. With a repeating order, everything is waiting for them. They used the ToDo list and SmartList reminders to manage their schedule.

You create Repeating SOP Document Types in the Sales Order Setup window. You have to change the ‘Allocate by’ option to Document/Batch or None. At that point the ‘Allow Repeating Documents’ radio button will be available.

There are a few third party solutions for repeating invoices, and I think you can use the Field Service module to create them. Field Service can be quite involved, it’s not a quick fix.

The Scheduled Payments section of RM is for loaning your customers money. It’s not something you can use for recurring invoices. You could use it, kind of, but it would be really clumsy.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi,

    Transactions>Sales>Invoice Batch Entry

From there you can set up the frequency and the days to increment. Documents can be emailed as an attachment. I am not sure about how automated these transactions can get.
