How do you change type of form being filed "X" boxes? The vendors are set up as 1099 MISC but the 1096 Form is putting an "X" on 1099-OID.

You need to load the 2016 year-end update. The layout has changed for the 2016 form 1096 -they moved the checkbox. If you are printing the old format, the 1099-OID box is checked. Make sure you are not printing a modified report instead of the original. If you modified the report last year, it will still be in the old format, it won't be changed by the year-end update. They also added a new checkbox as item 7 that is not included in even the updated format. My clients have just been marking it themselves before filing. If you have a hard time lining up any of the checkboxes, the fast way is just to make them invisible in RW and mark them yourself after printing.

Was there a YE Update release for GP 2016 RTM without R2?

Hi Manuel,
All of the updates are cumulative. There was not a YE update for RTM, the update will automatically bring your system up to the current build. R2 is not being maintained as a separate release.
