Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I was away for a few days. I just replied to one of your colleagues about Shopify & RMSify in general, but in terms of developers, the company who migrated my site was amazing. The designer is Abby Russell of Abby Rose Design (http://abbyrosedesign.com abby@abbyrosedesign.com). She can handle any graphic needs (if you're looking to freshen your site), but she also has on staff an amazing developer named David who is a wizard about making anything work. We had some special needs for our site and he figured stuff out as he went. Basically any feature you want he can figure out. And that's also the best part about Shopify, that there are all these add-on apps that you can quickly install that add all kinds of functionality -- coupons, live chat, upsell items in the cart, whatever. It's a great platform.
You'll want to get the RMSify app. You pay $99 a month but it's seamless integration with your RMS database and you get great support from their development team. The only issue (and I didn't mention this to your colleague) is that they are in the UK, so we only have a few hours in the morning to contact them with an issue, or else you're on to the next day. It's not a huge problem, it's a very solid piece of software that works consistently, but when issues arise (like if Shopify changes their logic that affects RMSify) then sometimes it's frustrating that no one is available on your timetable. But honestly, it's a *very* small issue, problems rarely arise, so it's not a deal breaker by any means.
