Hello, does anyone know why there is no Open in Excel option for Sales order lines V2?

For Purchase order lines, I am easily able to reach it from Purchase order form but not for the Sales order lines, there I have to look for it in Excel.

I have the same question (0)

You can Open in Excel the Sales order lines V2 data entity from one of the following screens:

    • Sales and marketing > Sales orders > Open orders > Open sales order lines
    • Sales and marketing > Sales orders > Open orders > Backorder lines
You can also get to it by opening Excel with a blank workbook, and in the Action pane, doing Developer > Add-ins > Microsoft Dynamics Office Add-in.

    Hi,
As andreasraithel said, when an entity has the same root data source (table) as the form, it will be added as an option to the "Open in Excel" section of the "Open in Microsoft Office" menu. This is called the "build" option.
Here is an old thread with a similar issue to yours, you can view it for more details. sales line data entities (SalesOrderLineV2Entity) (dynamics.com)
    Best Regards,
    Hana

    hy,

this is because the "open in Excel" menu item depends on several factors as one of this is the "root entity" of a form, and unfortunately this is not the "sales order line" when you are inside the sales order form.
When you use the table browser to query the "salesline" table you will have the sales oder line v2 entity that can be opened in excel.

More details about entities and related tables can be queried on my "Entity research tool".

    Hope this helps.

    Herzliche Grüße / kind regards,
