When is CRM Portals 8.x being release for on-premise use? Will it still allow custom code to be added to the MasterPortal ASP.NET website project? Please provide specific timelines and details.

How is it possible that MS has left such a void in their on-premise product by not providing any Portal solution for current CRM 2016 on-prem customers?

Microsoft hasn't yet provided an on-premise version of Dynamics 365 Portals (v8.x), nor an upgrade path for Adxstudio Portals 7 to Dynamics 365 Portals when installed online.
We have to wait until they publish more information on these scenarios before we can speak to them further.
I find one more problem based on this below KBA URL
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3165165
If we have CRM 2016 on-premise and ADX portal 7.0 we can not upgrade to Microsoft Portal 8.0 this is unsupported.
Details:
Installing a version 7.x or lower portal in a Dynamics CRM organization that already contains a version 8.x portal is unsupported and highly discouraged as it can lead to a loss of functionality and may render the version 8.x portal unable to be upgraded at a later date. Likewise, installing a version 8.x portal in a Dynamics CRM organization that already contains a version 7.x or lower portal is also unsupported. More information regarding upgrades for existing version 7.x portals will be provided with the Fall 2016 release of Dynamics CRM.
If anyone have any idea please place an answer.
