Payment tolerrance accounts on general posting setup and customer/vendor posting groups

What is the usage of payment tolerrance accounts on "General posting setup". 




When I tested payment tolerance function with a sales invoice, it is taking the payment tolerance account defined on customer posting group. Then what is the usage of "Sales Pmt. Tol. Debit Acc." and "Sales Pmt. Tol. Credit Acc." on general posting setup?

    in general payment tolerances are used for closing the books for the underpaid invoices and discounts at the time of payments 
     
    configuration of the sales pmt tolerance is for the finance impacts for the ledger and sub ledgers
