How can I write a note to someone and easily @ mention them?

Hi all, having big issues with this!  So we use Salesforce with our parent company, and one thing everyone loves is Chatter.  We hardly use email as we can just go to an account, opportunity etc and write a quick note like "Hey @John Smith can I get an update on this quote?" and they get an email, desktop notification, and can in one place in Salesforce view all their @ mentions to see what they have been tagged in.  We can do hash tags as well to track things which work great.

I'm having trouble replicating this in Dynamics.  Notes by default don't seem to work with @ so I had tried Posts which I think did, but then I enabled Yammer as that seemed better but apparently you can't go back to Posts so that option is gone.  Yammer seems okay as it does support this, however where it's really weird is you have to assign it to a Yammer group, you can't just post like on Chatter.  I can't seem to set Yammer to custom entities as well which makes each entity work differently for notes.  Also Yammer seems ugly, in the post it shows a link to the Dynamics record and then says "To learn how to allow JavaScript or to find out whether your browser supports JavaScript, check the online help in your we..." on every Yammer post.

I read online I should use Office 365 Groups instead, so I gave that a try.  This seems okay but also has issues!  1) It's slow to load, going into an opp then selecting Office 365 Groups still takes 20+ seconds to load vs just going into the opp and typing a note like with Chatter.  2) When I do go to Groups, there's Conversations, however doing @ does absolutely nothing.  If I click Open Conversations, it slowly loads Outlook Web Access, where from here I CAN do @ mentions to other people!  So an extra step which I don't like.  To make matters worse, there's 3) Which emails the person you @ mention, but has no reference at ALL of the Dynamics record.  So that person gets an email showing the note, but you have no idea if it's for an account, opportunity etc.

I feel like all these options are so clunky and slow.  All I'd really like is to open an opp or account, and quickly type a note like Chatter with a @ mention, and have it alert that person, letting them click the link and jump right to that opp.  I'm finding that users aren't putting notes nearly as much as they do in Salesforce just because of how cumbersome it is, so I'd love to hear what others do or if I'm missing something!

    Hi Lee

Groups would be a very forward thinking way to do so, However you could also have a look at this way
