How to add/import Custom Product Properties?

I would like to add some custom properties to the products in the product catalog.  
Should I add dynamicpropertyinstances to the product family or just extend the "product" entity with columns?

What is the Problem just adding columns to the entity and forms?  


In Fact I have an large Excel-sheet with about 2000 products and the property Values.
Is there any way I can import this if I use dynamicproperties on the Porduct Family?

    So I see that I cant import dynamicproperty instances.

    But what is the problem with just adding columns to the product entity?  

    Will they show up in Opportunities or Invoices?
