License Error When Installing Business Central App On-Premises

Hello Team,

We have developed a Business Central application available on AppSource, which operates flawlessly in cloud environments and can be installed without issues. However, we are encountering a licensing error when attempting to install this app for an on-premises deployment at one of our client's sites. The error message indicates that their current license does not permit the installation of our app's tables.

Interestingly, we were able to successfully install another third-party app from AppSource on the same Business Central on-premises environment without any licensing issues. This leads us to question whether there is an additional step or configuration we might have overlooked specifically for on-premises deployments.

Could you please advise on the following points:

  1. Is there a specific configuration in the AppSource portal we need to adjust for on-premises app compatibility?
  2. Are there additional steps required to export and publish an app for on-premises use that might differ from cloud deployment?
  3. Could this issue be related to the internal licensing of the client's on-premises Business Central, and if so, how can we address it?

We appreciate any guidance or resources you can provide to help us resolve this issue and ensure our app is accessible for on-premises installations.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Hi, as far as I know, this requires filling out another application form outside the system and specifying the object range of your program. After Microsoft confirms it, re-download the customer's new license file and install it in the local environment.
It is recommended that you contact your local Microsoft representative for more details.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
