Security Task Setup. I have ticked the Sales Document Detail Enquiry Zoom, but when I test it, it still says that I dont have privileges? Please help

Security Task Setup.

I have ticked the Sales Document Detail Enquiry Zoom, but when I go into dynamics into a sales transaction and try to click the arrow that takes me to the Sales Document Detail Enquiry Zoom, it still states that I dont have privileges.

I dont want the sales people to have privileges to do the Sales Document Detail Entry, but when I tick this it works. (Again in the Security Task Setup)

Please advise.

    Hi Barry,

    I assume you're using either GP10 or 2010 since you're talking about security tasks... The Sales Transaction Inquiry Zoom window is covered by the taks INQ_SALES_005* if that's what you're looking for. Now there are several security roles in GP that have that tasks assigned, one of them being BOOKKEEPER and CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. Now those may also have access to the Sales Document Entry window, which you don't necessarely want to give to your users. I suggest to create a new security role where you would add only tasks related to sales that start with INQ_ or RPT_, thus avoing the risk to open data entry forms.

    Another tip is to ask your partner for the Support Debugging Tools (short SDT) for GP, that would provide you a great tool for profile the security in GP and save a lot of headache and time.
