Cleaning up Procurement category hierarchy

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for cleaning up the Procurement category hierarchy used for Purchase Requisitions.

Our business want to clean up our procurement category hierarchy which includes moving some categories under different parent categories. The only way I can see to do this is to rename the old category and make it inactive. Not the cleanest solution want to see if I am missing something obvious?

You are right we can just inactivate , we can't delete if it has been used

Hi,

Yes, we cannot delete the used category and we can inactivate that.

We can create a New Category Hierarchy as per new business requirement and you can attach that hierarchy with Procurement Category Hierarchy. Also, link the new hierarches in Released products.

Thank you both for confirming they can't be deleted. Is there any way to move a category under a different parent category?

My first thought was to create a new category hierarchy but it doesn't look like the association can be changed?

Hi

We cannot move the Category from one Node to another Node.

Also, Procurement hierarchy association cannot be changed, if we have transactions.

We have only Inactivate option to disable the unwanted Category.

Better, you can Rename the Existing Procurement Category / Create the New Category as per your requirement and Inactivate the unwanted Category.
