Carrying information between tables

I have a follow up to a question I posted earlier (  ).  One of the responses I received referenced that there are SystemCreatedAt and SystemModifiedAt fields on the Sales Invoice header, but when the Invoice moved to the Posted Sales Invoice we would lose those fields.  Is it possible to create a field on the Posted Sales Invoice table and have the SystemCreatedAt field from the Sales Invoice date carry over to the field in the Posted Invoice so we can see when the original invoice was created (just to refer to the earlier question, there are times that we create an invoice but do not post right away while waiting for additional information from our Customer such as a PO# or an increase to the Not to Exceed amount) on the Posted Invoice.  I assume this would require customization if it is possible but before I seek that solution I wanted to be sure it is possible to do.

Thank you for your help.

    hi

yes that is correct, customisation is needed to do what you ask for

or if you put the provisional invoice table under change log, you could trace the original invoice from there

check my answer if it was helpful thank you

Agree with Danielle, you are looking for a customization. I believe that you will find Change Log too difficult to use.

Or if you want to do this with out customization you can let the order date on the sales header reflect the date the order was created.

That date will be brought forward to the posted invoice.

    Hi Xenia,

I remember that I replied to this question and I deleted the answer by mistake, sorry no idea why :).

All the below answers are correct, you need customizations.

You can use the above mentioned dates or you can created two new fields on the "Sales Order", "Sales Invoice" and "Posted Sales Invoice" , update the posting function to copy those two fields.

Thank you.  I had the email alert of your answer but I couldn't find it when I went back to the question so this explains it.  I appreciate you coming back to answer this one also!
