I am working on setting up the enhanced email functionality within BC for a client, and they want to use the Current User Connector.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/admin-how-setup-email
Their email addresses are j.doe@email.com, and their Microsoft Authentication that they log into BC with is jdoe@email.com
They are receiving an error The email was not sent because of the following error: "Access is denied. Check credentials and try again."
1. Is it possible to use the Current User email setup with the mismatch between their login and mailbox?
2. If the Current User Connector doesn't work, would the SMTP connector work?
Any suggestions on how to fix this IT nightmare are appreciated :)
HI
in order to use the Current User email setup, the email address associated with the user's Microsoft Authentication account must match the email address in the mailbox. If there is a mismatch between the login and mailbox email addresses, the Current User Connector will not work.
If the Current User Connector does not work due to a mismatch between the login and mailbox email addresses, the SMTP Connector can be used instead. The SMTP Connector allows users to send emails using an external email service provider, such as Gmail or Outlook.
To set up the SMTP Connector, the user will need to obtain the SMTP server name, port number, and security settings from their email service provider. These settings will then need to be entered into the SMTP Connector setup page in Business Central.
