This is not a valid IIF transaction file

When I try and import a test payroll CSV file into General Journal, I get the following error:-

This is not a valid IIF transaction file. Required token !TRNS could not be found in the file.

But I didn't specify to expect an IIF file in my Data Exchange Definition. It's just a CSV file (see mock-up below):-

Name,Surname,Gross Pay,Tax,Employee NICs,Employer NICs,Student Loan deduction,Global group (NEST) - Employee Contribution,Global group (NEST) - Employer Contribution,Global group (NEST) - Total Contribution,Take-home pay
TOTAL (9 employees),,1.23,4.56,7.89,9.87,6.54,3.21,1.23,4.56,7.89

Where may I have inadvertently told BC to expect an IIF file?

    Hello,

Are you having this issue in standard Business Central or is there some partner customization involved as well? And what release of BC are you using?

Thank you for answering. It may help others to assist you in a better way.

    It's On-Premise, version details below:-

Version: Platform 14.0.29530.0 + Application 29537 (GB Dynamics NAV 14.0)
Azure AD tenant: 0bed2171-b39d-4a1c-a46e-df0414171bb0, Environment: Production.

No customisation in regard to importing a payroll file.

I believe I've solved this one. There was an extension installed called 'Quickbooks Payroll File Import'. I don't know whether this came with BC but I checked with my colleagues and nobody uses it, so I uninstalled it. IIF is a Quickbooks format (Intuit Interchange Format). After a quick personalise to re-introduce the 'Import Payroll File' action which had disappeared, the process is no longer tied to IIF files.
