We use the drop shipment functionality a lot. For some of the items we drop ship, we provide the packaging for the end product which we stock and inventory. We have the packaging item built in BC and it is associated with the end product as part of its assembly BOM. When a regular sales order is processed, the assembly is created and the packaging inventory is reduced just as it should be. However, when the order is drop shipped with the requisition worksheet and the PO and SO are both processed, the inventory is not reduced. I'm guessing this is because the assembly item is set as 'purchase' under the replenishment section so BC assumes we are purchasing that packaging item with the PO created with the drop shipment.
Is there a setting or way to allow us to continue using the drop shipment but have it correctly reduce the inventory just like when the sales order is processed without the drop shipment function?
