Need to sync multiple BC instances to one CRM instance

I have a situation where there is one CRM instance with multiple business units, one for each company segment, and there is also one Business Central site per company segment.  The plan is to use the out-of-box Dataverse and Dynamics 365 Sales connectors within Business Central to enable syncing between the systems.  However while going through the connector setup in BC I noticed that I was not able to define which business unit in CRM to connect to, instead I just define an admin account to use for the setup process and a message indicates that Business Central will create a business unit and user in CRM.  Is it possible to control at a business unit level what data Business Central pulls from CRM when the sync jobs run?

Since Business Central is creating an integration user in CRM for the sync jobs, I'm wondering if I can put that integration user in the business unit I want to sync?  Or is there some other way to directly configure the business unit within Business Central?

All environments are online.

Any help on this is very much appreciated.

I appreciate the link, and the idea of using virtual entities with the Business Central OData endpoints looks like it could be very useful.  However this is not quite what I'm looking for.  In my situation, there are multiple Business Central sites (different url and login for each) and each site has a single company.  I need to use the Dataverse Connector and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Connector within Business Central to sync data with Dynamics 365, and I'm looking for help in determining if it's possible to link multiple Business Central sites to a single Dynamics 365 instance and filter by business unit.

Here is a basic diagram of what I'm looking for, hope this helps.
