Is there a way to see a monthly COGS breakdown between materials, direct labor, and overhead costs (or even hours) in D365? Trying to get a breakdown after our monthly closing.
Hi Jet,
Can you please provide some more detailed information? I'm not able to understand what exactly you are looking for. Are you looking for some production related reports or do you want to link the sales COGS to the produced items and link them back to the financial production details or something different?
Hi Andre,
Sorry for the lack of detail. I am trying to find a report or information that links cogs to the sales revenue for the month or whatever period selected. So, I am trying to find a way to look at what production hours, overhead, and materials were for the revenue that was shipped for that period. Does that help?
Unless you have a make to order (MTO) process, such a report would be hard or even impossible. On the production order you have a cost calculation option. The RAF process creates on-hand with inventory transactions. There is not always a link between the sales order line and the inventory transaction which was created by a production order. If you create a production order from a sales order (MTO) or if you reserve the on-hand from sales orders, then there will be a link between the sales inventory transaction and the production inventory transaction.
Hi,
Yes agree with Andre, For COGS, you need to mark(link) transaction if you can in the business process.
Thank you all for your help...I was afraid you were going to say that.
