Hi,
We are using the D365 field services. The system can track time by completed work order. However we need to add on top of that to track the time when the resource was idle like a time clock entry. How this can be achieved?
Thanks
Sam
Can you provide some examples. I’m not sure I’m following. Do you mean capturing break time or idle time?
Correct we want to track the idle time so by the end of 2 weeks we can generate a comprehensive timesheet Trx output for an outsourced payroll system.
Hopefully without any customization!
When resources using the field service mobile app change the booking status, it captures timestamp records. You can use that to capture the break time on a job. If you need to do more than that - such as capturing time when not on a job, you could use time entries from PSA or with some minor configuration modifications
We need to track time when not on a job ( on top of when on a job). Will PSA system be able to recognize the time spent on a job in FS? The goal is have one consolidated timesheet trx report.
Yes it can be extended and it’s been done many a time. Workflows, configurations etc.
there are many consultants out there, including myself that have used PSA Time Entry entities and concepts and configured/customized it to work with Field Service.
Here's a great blog article by Antti Pajunen on how he did just that: powerusers.microsoft.com/.../182194
This is helpful. Thank you!
