Start with the documentation from Microsoft: Upgrade Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition.
If there something you don't understand in the documentation, please ask more concrete questions.
another question plz martin ,
this link provide process to migrate data for the latest version of dynamics 365 for operation but in my case my code is not up to date to this version and i don't want to do it now!
it's not possible to migrate data to a specific version which is the version of my actual version ?
Do you mean that you have application code for an older version of Dynamics 365 for Operations application (e.g. 1611) and you don't want to upgrade to the latest one (July 2017)?
The documentation page mentions that upgrade tools are in Platform Update 8, so maybe updating the platform (without the application) would be enough, but I have no experience with it. I would like to upgrade the application ASAP anyway, so I wouldn't have this problem.
exactly that's what i mean ,
but i found this in before u begin :
"You must have a functional one-box demo or development environment that is already successfully running with the latest Finance and Operations update."
so i'm wondering if it can be done !
But which kind of update? It might be only the platform update. It's too vague.
What's your source?
Here is my source : docs.microsoft.com/.../upgrade-data-to-latest-update
i think a plateform update but even if it's a plateform update it shouldn't be any customization in any of the AOT packages that belong to the platform which is not my case !! this is my prob
As the first sentence says: "This topic provides instructions for upgrading your Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations database to the latest update". Then obviously the article talks about the latest update, otherwise it would contradict it's purpose. You must realize that it's primarily about upgrading older AX 7 instances to the latest version.
so we can not use it to upgrade database from ax 2012 to the latest update ???
Of course you can! Please look again at the documentation page I gave you in my first reply; it explicitly answers this question and you'll find additional links there about data upgrade from AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
ok thank you Martin
