Management reporter Insert rows from dimension

Hi. The customer is inserting rows from dimension in the Row dimension and it is not insering the accounts by account numbers?  Ex. 00-1610 is before 00-1000.  We cannot understand the sorting order and we would like to get them by account numbers.  Is there a way?

Thanks

Are we talking about the drill downs in here ?

No, not the drill down.  We are in the Row dimension and we insert the complete chart of accounts by using the Insert rows from dimension in the Edit menu.  We cannot get the order that they get insert and does not seem to always be the same order.

When selecting accounts in Row Dimensions, the client should select the Main Account segment only - your post seems to indicate they are selecting main and sub accounts in combination, which likely affects the sort order.

It is entirely possible for the client to maintain multiple row and column definitions to achieve different looks and sort orders.

They are selecting all the segments because they want a Trial Balance with the complete accounts. Thanks

They have actually more then 10000 accounts so it is hard to individually enter them, and it is why we are trying to find a solution to get them automatically in the correct order.  Thanks for your answer.

    Josee,

Have they tried the wizard function?  Most folks have tons of individual accounts, the wizard allows clients to add large groups of accounts to various report categories.  Even if these report categories are imperfectly named or defined, once you have added these accounts and categories, the user can edit them to perfect them.  This requires much less effort than building reports from scratch.

Thank you for your help. In this particular report the Insert rows from dimensions is what they are looking for because they already have their columns ditmension created and they just want to be sure that they have all accounts (in the correct order), but I will look at this wizard with them in case that it could help for other reports. Thanks
