Customizing feilds in the header area

I am trying to customize a field which is to be placed in the header area. Specifically i have added some business rules to which will perform some business logic based on the values of the field, but the logic didn't run.

I tried it through the form editor. I know header area is a special area, so doing this may require some sort of hack.

The rule is working now. Must have been some intermittent problem.

    Rules work in header area!

Yes, Alex. Initially i had the field in the body area and everything was working fine, and now i want to move it to header area.

Are you sure you have all of those fields on the form? (header or not)

If you don't have them there, the business rule will not work.

    I am using :

if (FieldA equals ...) lock 10 other fields

Please post the details of your business rule. I just checked in both V9 and 2015, and my business rule worked just fine for a field that was only added to the header

That was a simple rule, though:

if (FieldA equals ...) lock FieldA

I saw some posts here on the community and they say that this will not work.

    Hi,

I am not sure this would solve the problem, but you might try adding the same fields to the form (just make them hidden.. or add them to a hidden section)
