New Quote does not get autonumbered Quote ID

Dear Community,

After searching for several hours I can not find the right solution.
When we create a new Quote from the Quotes entity the Quote ID (quotenumber) was always filled automatically by the autonumbering  (LQU-xxxx-xxx).

But when we create a new quote now the field stays empty, Saving the quote gives the error that we need to fill in a quote ID.

We do not know what went wrong, we have not changed anything the past months.

Someone have had some similar issue before?

Thanks in advance,

Sincerely,

Joey

    Hi Joey,

Can you please check if the quote auto number settings are in place. You can do this by navigating to Settings -> Administration -> Auto-Numbering like below:

Also there may be some external plugins which are affecting this, may be some 3rd party tools. Otherwise, this should work.

    Dear Somesh,

    These settings are correct:
     NumberChange.PNG

The field on the Quote entity used to be read-only before and not able to fill in.
When the Quote was saved the Quote ID was generated automatically, The system would not notify that the field is not filled in. Now when we want to save a new Quote the system tells us that the Quote ID is not filled in, making it impossible to save new Quotes without filling in the field ourselves (it's primary key, so it is very tricky to fill it in ourselves).

This is the quote screen and I have focus on the textbox Quote ID, Should not be possible:

    Error message when saving:

We have not installed any 3rd party plugin lately, Other screens like Invoice / Order still works like a charm.

I think I understood the issue.

From your screenshot, I see the Quote ID field is required as well as editable. In this case, CRM will not allow you to save the quote.

You need to make this field read-only from the Form-editor, then it will work properly and generate the Auto-number as configured. See screenshot below.

Kindly mark this as Answer if it resolves your problem.

This is how it should look -

    Dear Somesh,

You're my hero, I put the field to read-only and now it works again :).

    Thanks for this!
