Auto reservation Assembly items sales order - turn off

Hi All

We are using Assembly BOMs (assemble to order) and sales order automatically reserves to Assembly order.

Is there a way to turn off auto reservations for assembly orders? The reason is we just use the BOM to insert all components to sales order by explode BOM function rather than delivering the BOM itself

thanks

Have you considered setting the item with a BOM to be assemble to stock instead? You can then add it a sales line and explode when needed. The assembly order being created doesn’t seem necessary, especially if it creates an adverse effect.

I would remove planking parameters on the BOM item. Just use them, if you do, at component level. Perhaps you’ll consider adding a prompt to the user for exploding the BOM. Call the standard function onaftervalidate of the qty. if the item is set to do so (custom field)
