Trying to install KB3146337 (models) on my AX 2012 R3 CU12 system

I try to install this hotfix and it keeps saying that it cannot connect to the database and it doesn't populate the the model database in the list even though it is there.  Is there anyway to get the model database to show up in this hotfix?

The hotfix most likely is reading the local AX client configuration from the registry. Make sure that both for your Local client and Business connector the correct AX AOS instance and port are selected, you have refreshed the services, and you have a Login to the SQL Server instance where that AOS has its' databases stored, and you have db_owner rights on the DBs (or System administrator rights for the whole SQL instance).

I did most of that. My question is will this error show if I am trying to install a hotfix that has an older version. CU12 is 6.3.5000.138. The hotfix in question is for version 6.3.3000.1918. Let me know if this matters or not. I saw this blog and was wondering.

You cannot install and not supposed to install hotfixes for higher versions, since it can contain both application and binary updates, and the latter one will most likely break your system. So it is normal if you get an error trying to patch a lower version of AX with a higher one, if the required patch level does not match.

What you need to do is that if it is only an application fix, do it on an application which has the correct patch level, and extract the model manually, then apply it on your target environment. Once that is done, resolve any potential code and object conflicts.

I get this error when running statements "Error executing code: The field with ID '0' does not exist in table 'AccountSumMap'. Stack trace."  Which supposedly gets fix by this KB update.  I guess I will try install the models manually.  Is that the best solutions?

Nevermind this issue.  I added some code to one of the methods for the customer statement and it worked!
