If you are completely new to Dynamics CRM 2016 and looking to migrate legacy data to the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM on-premise instance the best thing to do is to use the Import Data utility within Dynamics.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328321.aspx

I've wrote a short blog post to help walk you through the import process.

    365lyf.com/beginners-guide-to-importing-data-through-microsoft-dynamics-import-tool

Next step will be to create Security roles that match the roles and duties of members of your staff.  Powerobjects has a good write up covering security roles:

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../security-roles

    Hope this information helps.

    Cheers - Andrew Ly

What I think instead of asking so many questions, the easiest way to get you started is to invest the people into the CRM course.
