I have fixed this problem many times, try:
1. Restarting the computer.
2. Uninstall (Restart) and reinstalling the drivers.
3. Updating driver software or find newer drivers for the printer.
I just got finished installing a Bixolon SRP-350 that is using a serial port. (very very old tech). This took me about an hour, working remotely. The driver the client had did not work on this particular computer. Old equipment swapping causes headaches. I happened to have a newer version of the Bixolon driver that I downloaded a few months back. I installed the newer version configured the printer and drawer. Ran a check health (Do not trust Check Health. The true test is a live test in RMS). I then opened the POS program and printed form the journal and it was successful.
the hint that can help you solve this issue. you cannot use OPOS printer while the POS and the Store manager is opened. so you have to close the either of them to access the printer. good luck let me know if that will help.
While testing the Epson Tm88II printer I ran into the same situation. I never could figure it out. If you close the POS
you will be able to print out of the Store manager journal but not with both programs running We decided to
stay with the Star printer as the Opos driver never gave this issue.

I see this error ocasionally, and the fix is always to restart the computer and the printer. If the error happens all the time for that function, there is probably some other cause.
Lois,
Thanks for reaching back out here. The first forum (Using Microsoft Dynamics Products) you posted in was not a bad location but since we had a Microsoft Dynamics RMS forum I thought it would be best to place in the Microsoft Dynamics RMS forum. For figuring out where to post content on the community site I would recommend the following tips. If you have a product specific question I would navigate to the product community and then click product forum. If you want a list of all the communities that live on the community site I would recommend navigating to the home page. All communities are listed in the center of the page from top to bottom. Also from the home page you can click on the forums link in the left hand navigation and that will take you to a list of all the forums available on the community site.
Around your search question our search is underpowered and struggles to pull back relevant results within the community site at this time. This is something we are well aware of and we have a new search coming out with our release of Community 2.0. The new search will dramatically improve the relevancy of results tjat it returns and it will also show the user the status of the question. I would try our community search first and then I would recommend using Bing search to pull back results from the community site as a second option. I know this is not ideal and we are working as hard as we can to get community 2.0 out the door.
Here are the repo steps to get to the RMS forums: Community Home> Scroll down to RMS Community> Click Forums> your question will be listed there.
If you have any more questions please let me know.
Lois,
I have moved this post to the Microsoft Dynamics RMS community forum. I feel you will get more Microsoft Dynamics RMS users eyes on this question. Please let me know if you have any questions.
