Blanket Purchase Orders

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I am advised that MS Dynamics does not allow partial invoicing of an order and so cannot do Blanket Purchase Orders?

That is to say, I understand that it can do BPOs for widgets in a manufacuring environment but not for a normal BPO allowing ad-hoc invoiced spend to be made against it.

Is this correct, and are there any work-arounds to make it a viable ERP from a Procurement perspective?  -  Many thanks.

    Hi,

You can do partial invoicing in BPO as follows.

In Quantity to Receive field on Lines fill in the partial quantity and then Make Order.

This will create a PO of Partial Quantity and you can then Receive and Invoice the PO.

Automatically Quantity Received and Quantity Invoiced will be update BPO Lines.

To receive the remaining quantity, add the additional Quantity in Quantity to Receive field on BPO Lines and make order again.

    I hope this helps :)

Let me know if you have any issues.

I understand that it can do BPOs for numbersof items but does not allow partial invoicing and so cannot do BPOs for value.

There is a blanket purchase order on BC. You can also do partial invoice.
