I added a text for a label and it does not print. I did not add it as a field just text in the Word Doc.

What's the GP report you're trying to get a Word Template equivalent for ? Most of the 'regular' GP reports already have a corresponding Word Template built-in and there should be no need to us the Template Generator..
Besides of that, labels are just free text in GP Reports & Word Templates, so you could add them without changing anything to the data structure (XML) of the template..
If it's just a title to a field, you can just update the Word document if you wish, and then in Template maintenance, click the green + sign and reselect the Word doc again to bring in your changes. Be sure to assign to the company again.
