Hi All,

Urgent help required!

I have a scenario where a manager can handle multiple territories but dynamics CRM doesn't provide such feature to allocate single user to multiple territories, For ex, smith is handling two regions in Kenya.

So he is a manager for advisors located in both regions.

Kindly suggest how i can achieve this objective. How i can make single user to be a manger for two territories?

    Hi,

    Taken from

    www.microsoft.com/.../set-up-sales-territories-to-organize-business-markets-by-geographical-area.aspx

"You can’t allocate the same user to multiple territories. If you need to assign a user to a larger area (more than one existing territory), create a new territory that includes the existing territories, and then assign the user to that new territory."

In Dynamics 365 Sales, a user is typically associated with a single territory by default. However, you can achieve the objective of assigning a single user as a manager for multiple territories by considering the following options:

    Option 1: Multiple User Roles
    - Create separate user roles for each territory that the manager oversees. For example, "Manager - Region A" and "Manager - Region B".
    - Assign the respective user roles to the manager user. This allows the user to have the necessary privileges and access within each territory.
    - Ensure that the user roles are configured to provide the appropriate permissions and access levels to manage the territories effectively.

    Option 2: Custom Entity Relationship
    - Create a custom entity to represent the manager's relationship with territories. For example, "Territory Manager" or "Territory Assignment".
    - Add a lookup field in the custom entity to associate the manager user with multiple territories.
    - Create records in the custom entity to establish the relationship between the manager user and the respective territories they manage.
    - Use workflows, plugins, or other customization options to enforce the logic and business rules related to the manager's access and privileges within the territories.

    Option 3: Territory Hierarchy
    - Create a hierarchical structure for territories, where a higher-level territory represents a region and lower-level territories represent sub-regions or areas.
    - Assign the manager user to the higher-level territory representing the combined regions they manage.
    - Configure the territory hierarchy to inherit the access and permissions from the higher-level territory to the lower-level territories.
    - Ensure that the manager user has the necessary privileges and access levels within the higher-level territory to effectively manage the territories below.

These options provide different approaches to assign a single user as a manager for multiple territories in Dynamics 365 Sales. Choose the option that best aligns with your specific requirements and consider any additional customization or configuration needed to achieve the desired functionality.

It's recommended to consult with a Dynamics 365 consultant or partner for a detailed analysis of your specific business needs and assistance in implementing the most suitable solution.
