Hi,
 
I'm trying to grant access for a colleague to a company in Business Central. When he tries to access the company, he gets the error:
/cannot open the company because you do not have a paid license for production companies/
 
He currently has the /Dynamics 365 Business Central for IWs/ license applied to his account. I have this license as well, but I could access the company with no issues. I was wondering if there is something I could check to fix this error? (e.g. permissions, etc.) Or would I need to purchase a different license for him?

    Hi Jason,
     
    It is normal to receive the error message because someone with a paid license has accessed the environment, and thus it has become a paid tenant/environment. The IWS license provided a nearly unlimited trial period, which means that any customer using the same license can access everything in Business Central, but it also expects all users to have the same type of license; once the environment is accessed by someone with a paid license, such as your user, it becomes a paid environment, and all users must use a paid license.

    Hi, please check if your environment has expired.
     
    And, What happens to data and access when a Dynamics 365 Business Central subscription ends/expires?
    Maybe you are an administrator, so you can also log into the environment.
