Change TabIndex Order in Purchase Order screen - fields disappearing

Posted on by 1,615

Hi there,

I am trying to change the tabindex order in the grid section of the Purchase Order screen.

I change the tabindex property to the order I require in the various fields using customise mode and then save the customisations. When I load the screen again, some of the fields in the grid have totally disappeared. I have redone this a few times but get the same result.  Can anybody help please?

    Hi there,

I removed customisations from screen and then made acct and project tabindex 25 and 26.

Inventory id is 22 and siteid is 27 and tabbing runs from inventory to siteid so wanted these 2 fields to fit inbetween them.  Unfortunately I still had the same problem and project field disappeared.

    Hi Santhosh,

    I got your point.

Here I am trying to convey the functionality of customization manager. I have personally done the research about the tab index changes on customization. It seems the system automatically changes the tab index of other control  while changing the tab index of one control in the Grid.

    Thanks,

    Hi Jo

You can press the tab key in the grid and check the cursor travel. Try to identify if you press tab key and the cursor is not blinking in any of the control then press F3 and check whether the Project Pvrec Popup screen will appear or not.

Have u tried the these changes after removed the current customization as mentioned in my previous reply?

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Perumalsamy

Even If it is custom screen development / customization, while changing the Tab Index value of one control, system will automatically change the tab-index for other controls. But some times it will not happen properly and we may face this issue.

In such situation, if it is a custom screen then we have a option to correct/update the tab-index to all controls manually using Code inspector execution in Tools for VB.  But where as customization, better we need to verify this scenario randomly.

That's the reason I have asked Jo to check other control tab-index values.

    Hope you got my point..

    Thanks & Regards

I also don't think it is possible to have 2 tab indexes with the same number as system automatically changes them if duplication.

I however tried to used an unused number and had  the same problem

To my knowledge, there is no possibility to have the same Tab index  value for control within the Grid,If we are changing the Tab Index value of one control, the system automatically changes the Tab index of other control within the Grid.

You can try the santhosh suggested way.

    Thanks,

    Hi

Check all the other controls in that grid, doesn't have the same Tabindex value what you have changed for Account and Project controls. If yes then change the Tabindex value for other controls properly.

Otherwise take a backup of current customization and remove all the customization for this screen & Try to do the tab index modification from beginning, This is applicable only if the screen has no other customization apart from this tab index changes.

    Hope this Helps

    Thanks & Regards

Can you check the InGrid property of Project control?

Meanwhile I done the same customization on Purchase order screen in Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 . Customization changes perfectly reflected in Purchase Order Maintenance screen.

Did you search Hot fixes for Dynamics SL 2011 in Partner source?

    Thanks,

    Perumalsamy R
