QR codes on items that display dynamic content on scan

Hello dear community!

I know that it is possible to generate a unique QR-code for each item in Business Central. My question is if it possible to link the URL of the specific item so we can get dynamic content (e.g Inventory qnt, price, shelf no. etc).
Is there another way to achieve it? For example can we make a layout to print with visible aspect the QR code and the part number but when you scan the QR code get more information from items card?

It might be very challenging to achieve per your requirements via extension, but many 3rd party apps offer such function to enable user to access those information by scanning.

Thank you both for your answers.

Unfortunately my question's not answered yet though. Perhaps my question was misleading.

1) I need to generate QR codes from Business Central.
2) Print ONLY the QR codes along with the spare part number under it.

3) Link the item's URL on the specific QR code or set the Business Central fields I want to see on scan.

Mr. Jun Wang mentioned about third party apps. Are you also using this feature? Do you have any application to suggest for my purpose?

Hi dear,

It's required custom development to embedded information to QR CODE. below is steps you can follow.

1. create new project(Custom Extension) in vs code.

2. Create new RDLC report and you can take "item" data item and pass fields(e.g Inventory qnt, price, shelf no. etc) as base64 string and enbedded it in QR Code type text box in RDLC layout of report.

3. You can take another text box to show part number.

4. now publish extension and run the report and filter for a item and in report output you can find printed QR CODE and part number below it . scan that QR Code and verify the information is correct!
