Batch Security

Hi All,
Is it possible to allow gp users to access only his/her batch?

For Example: There are 10 SOP users all entering Sales Invoices.
Administrator will create 10 batches with the respective name of the 10 GP users.
So, each gp user should select his/her own batch.  The system should not allowed to select other user's batch.

How to achieve this?

Thanks in Advance.

Regards

Hi, its not achievable through standard GP. You're looking at a development.

However, why do you need this? Could you not use standard GP batch control, and have just one 'manager' approving batches for posting?

    Thanks Ian,

Actually, there are about 10 sales gp users and they will be entering sales quotations, orders, invoices ...etc.  Before posting the manager will check the transactions and the transaction will be identified by the batch (if there is any problem in the transaction, through batch id user will be identified).  So manager created batches for each user.

The client doesn't want that a user can select the batch which is created for another user.

    Yes, der is development.

     Thanks & Regard

If you have Modifier with VBA (or the customization site enabler) this can be accomplished. I know it would be 'development' but Microsoft has made it easier because one of the examples you can download from CustomerSource is:

  • GreatPlainsFilter10.zip – Demonstrates the addition of batch-level security for Sales Order Processing (SOP) transaction entry.
  • Very cool, and it works :)
