Uncommon may not be the right word. You may have noticed that my English is not very good. I didn't say it's not used.

Only, form buttons are "generally" used to perform operations on certain records, the situation may be different in batches. A normal class can be considered, especially if it will not be used to set up a batchjob.

(Actually, while I was writing the above, SysOperation crossed my mind too. I just said "it's uncommon" thinking about it + with my general opinion)

As a result, I don't know the process, I just wrote it with the idea that we can talk about the details if interested.

I wouldn't say that calling a batch class from a form button is uncommon. I see it all the time. You have many buttons which allow you to execute a process (such as posting a journal) and optionally select batch processing.

But I wouldn't use RunBaseBatch for new development. The newer framework, SysOperation, has many benefits. For example, it'll generate the dialog for you and it'll handle serialization and desearialization (which requires pack() and unpack() in RunBase framework and developers did it wrong very often).

By the way, please pay more attention to which categories you select for your thread. For example, your actual question doesn't seem to be related to Connector for CRM, Management Reporter or Windows 8 and Mobile Apps in any way. Let me fix it for you this time...

thank you so much for the response, It really answers my question.

can you explain to me shortly why calling a batch from a button is not common so I can explore more about the batch class?

    You need a actionMenuItem

Note: You know the process better than I do. I don't want to interfere, but the thing is, calling a batch class as a button on a form is not very common.
