Getting Error Popup when updating a notes in a Custom entity.

Hi guys , 

I have a custoum entity in that when I am updating a notes error is coming ?

Pls let me know how it can be rectified. ? Earlier it was not coming

    Please go to Settings -> Customizations -> Processes -> 'Update Notes As per opportunity'

    This is an issue with the workflow named 'Update Notes As per opportunity'.

    If you need more help, please paste a  screenshot of the workflow.

    Hi,

    This could happen if you are using several workflows that are calling the same entity even if you are trying to update different regarding entities.

    For example:

    1. Workflow that is triggered for Note entity to update information in the custom entity for all organization.

    2. Workflow that is triggered for Note entity to update information in Opportunity entity for all organization.

    If you put both workflows in background mode you will unlock workflows but you will find error for Workflow 1 every time that there is a modification in Opportunity entity, this is because information that is trying to be updated in custom entity doesn’t exists and you will find error: 'Cannot find record to be updated'. Similar thing will happen every time that there is a modification in Opportunity entity, system jobs will register workflows as failed or waiting with error: 'Cannot find record to be updated'

    If you put one workflow in real time and the other in background there will be a blocking error indicating that business process is failing, it will be not possible to create registers in the entity that has workflow in background mode.

    If you put both workflows in real time will block completely them and will be not possible to create notes in this case.

    Workaround:

    Put all workflows that are pointing to the same entity as 'Audit Update' in background mode and verify if this free the workflow.

    When changing workflows in background mode disable automatic delete for completed workflows so this could give you more information in system jobs if there is a corruption.

    Verify if there is no plugin that tries to update, create or read registers used by workflow.

    Hi Judy ,

    Thanks for your reply .  According to your suggestion I converted Workflow  to background workflow and it worked .But I checked this workflow  on updating notes in Inquiry(custoum Entity) it was updating "created by" , "created on" on description field of opportunity Entity.

    But I am sure when I am updating notes  it is not updating any thing in any other entity except opportunity.
